My business was inspired by my dog Maurice.
Maurice is a Boston Terrier who developed horrible skin allergies. We went to many vets and pet stores looking for products that would help him out and relieve his pain and struggles with skin and other issues. I realized there were not many great natural products made in the USA that could help what my dog needed. After research and speaking to a great lab we developed our own line of dog grooming and health products.
Many products including our Hydrating Butter, Grapeseed Oil and our Deep Cleaning Paw Fizz Tablets have helped to make Maurice a very happy puppy along with thousands of other dogs as well, with the help of Shopify.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
With the help of Shopify, Google, other marketing techniques including trade shows, we were able to start picking up retail sales online. While we still have a lot of competition, we are well on our way to building a great brand name in the industry.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
We have used many great apps to help run our store. We use the mailchimp app for our newsletters, which let our customers know about discounts. We use shipstation for our shipping needs which simplifies everything. We developed a great system which works flawlessly with our warehouse and Shopify has an app to match anyones needs.
What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?
We recommend working with the great shopify staff to make sure they point you in the right direction for whatever needs your store may have. If you need design help, or have special needs like wholesale, they usually have someone that will be able to help you out
